Through the process of GB Selections, British Rafting are the body responsible for selecting the teams to represent Great Britain at the International Rafting Federation European and World Championships.

The British Rafting National Selection Policy 2021 is currently in consultation – feedback and queries can be directed to consultation@britishrafting.com.

Canolfan Tryweryn, Bala, North Wales

R4 race format (International Rafting Federation Rules apply)

Competition will take place in Sprint, Head-to-Head, Slalom and Downriver (Endurance).
Team GB selection will be ratified by the British Rafting International Selection Panel who will announce their decision within 48 hours of the competition closing (or sooner).

Subject to adherence with the British Rafting National Selection Policy 2021:

  • the top team in each category will represent Great Britain at the 2021 IRF World Rafting Championship

At the point of event registration, each team member must be able to prove their identity and eligibility to represent Great Britain.
In order to be eligible to represent Great Britain, each team member must be either a UK citizen or permanent resident for the last three years (and not have competed for any other (non-GB) national rafting team within that time).
Each team member must also be a British Canoeing member if their team is selected to represent Great Britain – membership of British Canoeing is mandatory for each and every team member.
